Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is currently imprisoned, has been placed under a 14-day judicial remand in a corruption case.

Imran Khan, the 71-year-old leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, has been held in a high-security jail in Rawalpindi since September 26 due to multiple ongoing cases.

An accountability court in Pakistan ruled on November 27 to place Imran Khan under a 14-day judicial remand in a corruption case. This decision came after the country’s anti-graft body sought an extension of the former Prime Minister’s physical remand, a request that was denied.

Judge Muhammad Bashir of the Islamabad Accountability Court oversaw the proceedings related to the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case, conducted at the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi where Mr. Khan is currently detained, as reported by The Express Tribune newspaper.
